If you’re the owner of an iPhone 11 Pro Max and you’ve recently encountered a cracked or broken screen, you may feel overwhelmed. But don’t despair! Whether a novice or a pro, this tutorial will provide you with all the steps you need to get your iPhone back in working order.
Tools Needed
The most important items for iPhone 11 Pro Max screen replacements are a Phillips #000 Screwdriver, a spudger, and tweezers. With these tools, you can take apart your phone and access the LCD panel without problems. You’ll also need some adhesive to stick the new screen in place. You can purchase a kit with all the parts needed for the repair or buy them individually.
Take Apart Your Phone
Use plastic opening tools to gently pry off the bottom screws and remove the back panel. Once the back panel has been removed, you should be able to see the internal components of your iPhone. Use the same plastic opening tools to remove the LCD shield plate carefully. Be careful not to damage the flex cable or other components as you remove it.
Once the LCD shield plate has been removed, you should be able to access the front assembly of your iPhone 11 Pro Max. Use a suction cup tool to gently pull up the front assembly and separate it from the rear case.
Remove the Old Screen
Start by disconnecting any ribbon cables or flex cables attached to the screen. Keep track of where each cable was connected, as you’ll need to reconnect them later.
Next, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry open the LCD shield plate at the top of the screen. Gently lift the edges of the shield plate until it comes loose from the frame.
Once the LCD shield plate is out of the way, use your heat gun to warm up the adhesive holding the old screen. Heat the adhesive for about a minute, then use a thin spudger tool to pry the old screen away from the frame gently.
Install the New Screen
Take your new LCD screen and carefully place it onto the back of the phone. Make sure to line up all of the connectors correctly. Next, you’ll want to reattach the LCD shield plate. Carefully align it with the top of the phone and secure it with your precision screwdriver. Make sure that the clips at the bottom are securely fastened. Finally, turn on your phone to ensure the display is working correctly.
